Puretone Audiometry (PTA)
Pure Tone Audiometry is a hearing test used to check how well a person can hear different sounds at different pitches and volumes. It’s like a simple way to measure your hearing ability.
Here’s how it is performed
It’s a standard test used to check hearing, especially for conditions like hearing loss, and it’s often done for children or anyone who might need a hearing evaluation.
Our Specialists are highly qualified and trained to let you know on the following information;
After this test performed You get to know about
Impedance Testing (Tympanometry):
This is a type of hearing test that measures how well your middle ear is working. It’s often used to check for issues like ear infections, fluid in the ear, or problems with the eardrum or the bones in the middle ear.
By performing this test, our specialists get a clearer picture of the health of the middle ear and whether there might be any need for further treatment or tests.
Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE) Testing
This is a quick, painless test used to measure the sounds your inner ear (cochlea) makes in response to sounds. It’s commonly used to screen for hearing loss, especially in newborns and young children, but can also be used for adults in certain situations.
Brain Stem Evoked Response Audiometry (BERA)/ Auditory Brainstem Responses (ABR):
The Brain Stem Evoked Response Audiometry (BERA) is an objective test that gives us the approximate average hearing threshold level of the subject. It is a very reliable yet sometimes time-consuming test to objectively evaluate the hearing thresholds of an adult or child. This test is used to check the structural and functional integrity of the auditory pathway from the inner ear to the midbrain. Many neurotological disorders that present with vertigo or deafness have defects in this portion of the auditory pathway in the brain. This is hence one of the basic investigations in patients suffering from vertigo, imbalance, hearing deficit and tinnitus. The test is also used to determine the degree of hearing loss objectivity in pediatric patients as well as in difficult to test patients who do not respond reliably to the subjective tests of hearing like the pure tone audiometry and allied tests.
Tinnitus assessment & management:
Tinnitus is the perception of sound in the ears or head without an external source. It is often described as ringing, buzzing, or hissing noises, and it can range in severity. Assessing tinnitus requires a comprehensive approach to understand its causes, severity, and impact on the individual. Here’s an overview of our specialists’ approach towards tinnitus assessment procedures.
